Der Klimawandel, mit seinen Ursachen und Folgen ist zunehmend Gegenstand psychologischer Forschung. Untersucht werden Wahrnehmung, kognitive Verarbeitung, Mitigationsund Adaptationsverhalten, Umweltkommunikation sowie der Umgang mit potentiellen Umweltkonflikten, Umweltflucht und moglichen psychisch-emotionalen Konsequenzen. Zu all diesen Themen, bei denen menschliches Erleben und Verhalten im Mittelpunkt steht, kann die Psychologie einen wertvollen Beitrag leisten. Dieses Kapitel gibt einen Uberblick uber psychologische Forschung im Zusammenhang mit Fragen des Klimawandels, wodurch Interesse fur eine intensivere Beschaftigung mit der psychologischen Perspektive auf den Klimawandel geweckt und interdisziplinare Zusammenarbeit angeregt werden soll.
