Abstract Low-angle neutron scattering measurements have been performed on the mixed surfactant system C 16 TAB/C 12 E 2 . For certain compositions and under the influence of shear the scattering pattern indicates the presence of two separate components in what visually is a viscoelastic isotropic, low turbidity system. The result can be rationalised from the phase diagram.
