Abstract The giant magnetoresistance (MR) effect has been investigated for NiFeCo Cu multilayers (MLs) with various NiFeCo alloy composition. The composition was varied along the zero magnetostriction constants line in the Co-rich (>35at%) areas. The MLs containing less than 15 at% Fe exhibited a MR ratio above 20% at a Cu thickness of about 2 nm.
