Reconsidering Human Dignity In The New Era

Abstract Dignity is one of those human values, which have dramatically changed in the last few decades. This paper tries to raise awareness of the risks of massively used inventions and new technologies and their possibility to threaten human dignity. It briefly introduces the technologies that symbolize the new era by explaining their birth, current applications, benefits and challenges, and examines the decisive factors that might compromise human rights. Human dignity is concisely re-evaluated, paying attention to the consequences of the technologies that have already intensively modified the world we once knew. At the end, the paper offers some suggestions on how to make the future world better and more dignified.
