1. At a meeting of the Officers of the Executive Board it was agreed to recommend the addition to the provisional agenda of an item on neglected tropical diseases. This report is submitted in response to that decision. It provides information on the context, the current situation, progress made since the adoption in 2012 of the road map for accelerating work to overcome the global impact of neglected tropical diseases, and the challenges and opportunities for the next decade.
