The classical oral psoralen and UVA regimen may have a number of long term side effects which are dose dependent. The introduction of a technique utilising the addition of topical 8 MOP to the oral routine where resistant plaques of psoriasis are encountered, has resulted in the reduction by one third of the total dose of UVA required to produce either complete or an acceptable level of clearance.
