Platelet function tests were performed in 14 migraine patients during the headache-free period and repeated subsequently in 3 patients during prodrome and in 11 patients during the headache phase. Platelet adhesiveness to glass beads and platelet aggregation response to ADP, epinephrine, thrombin and serotonin increased during the prodrome. During the headache phase, however, adhesiveness increased significantly (p<0.01) and aggregation in response to ADP and epinephrine decreased significantly (p<0.01 and p<0.05).
