Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.), is a dioecious tropical and subtropical monocot fruit species cultivated mainly in the Middle East. Nowadays, date palm, as a salt and drought tolerant plant, attracts the attention of growers in various countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas (Al-Khayri et al. 2015aa, b).
