Privatkundenlosungen gelten bereits im Einzelhandel (Arnold et al. 2009) sowie in weiteren Branchen als vielversprechende Moglichkeit, sich im Wettbewerb zu profilieren (Schmitz 2014). Sie stellen eine Kombination aus systematisch aufeinander abgestimmten Sach- und Dienstleistungen zur Losung eines individuellen Kundenproblems dar, wobei die Wertschopfung nur in Zusammenarbeit zwischen Kunde und Anbieter erfolgen kann (Tuli et al. 2007, S. 1f.).
