Psoriasis Treatment With RePUVA In The United Arab Emirates
Published 1988 · Medicine
ABSTRACT: Twenty‐one patients with severe psoriasis involving more than 40% of the body surface were included in the first controlled study of RePUVA therapy in the United Arab Emirates. The control group was given PUVA only. In the RePUVA group, PUVA was started with the retinoids (not following the retinoids by 2 weeks as is usually done in the standard RePUVA therapy) and then was gradually increased, so it was possible to give 4J/cm2 by the beginning of the third week. Administration of PUVA in this way would save the time needed to reach an effective PUVA dose if the latter is started 2 weeks following oral retinoids.
