Abstract The authors describe some of the complications that appear more frequently with laparoscopic cholecystectomy than open cholecystectomy and the mechanisms underlying the occurrence of bile duct injuries, making reference to 0.58% of bile duct injuries in 1037 consecutive laparoscopic cases and the possibility of treatment.
