A list of Free Business and Tech Conferences in 2020 (August Edition)

One of the things that have changed in 2020 has conferences. While many have been cancelled, others have gone fully digital.
Although it’s clear to see the benefits of attending a conference in person — making it easier to network and interact — attending a conference for free might mean that you save anything between a couple hundred dollars and a few thousand dollars (when you include travel and accommodation).

Here we have compiled a list of virtual conferences that are coming up and are completely free:

Financing a resilient future – October 13-14, 2020

UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is hosting its 16th Global Roundtable virtually on 13–14 October 2020, in collaboration with Responsible Investor. UNEP FI’s biennial Global Roundtable (GRT) is a major global agenda-setting event on sustainable finance. Held under the theme of “Financing a Resilient Future”, the GRT will bring together decision-makers, experts and thought leaders on a virtual event platform, and help shape approaches to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues and accelerating sustainable banking, insurance and investment.

Sustainability in Libraries – October 14, 2020

This mini-conference will center on the concept of “Sustainable Thinking” which aligns the core values of libraries with the “Triple Bottom Line” definition of sustainability–i.e. the intersection of environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic feasibility–to inspire investment and build support for your library in the future.
